Annual Retreat for Pastoral Clergy at St. Ann’s Generalate, Tarnaka, Hyderabad:
Posted On : Oct. 07, 2015
“The apostles gathered
together with Jesus; and they reported
to Him all that they had done and
taught. And He said to them, “Come
away by yourselves to a secluded
place and rest a while.” For there were
many people coming and going, and
they did not even have time to eat. (Mk 6: 30, 31). As the pastoral clergy of the
diocese are much involved in the “salvation
of the souls,” at the invitation of the Lord, the
Annual Retreat for 2015 was arranged from
21-25 September 2015 at the beautiful and
serene place of St. Ann’s Generalate,
Tarnaka, Hyderabad. The retreat was guided
by Rev. Fr. Tony Viagula, SJ, one of India’s
renowned retreat preacher. As the Church
celebrates the year of the Consecrated Life,
the theme of the Retreat was chosen as,
“Wake up, the Holiness is possible.” The
preacher out of his pastoral, social and educational expertise has preached an integral
retreat where every pastoral clergy is to be involved in his daily priestly activities.
Each deanery was made to involve in the retreat through innovative and active
participation in the retreat. The priests whole heartedly involved in the retreat and
prepared themselves for the future pastoral mission. The retreat was attended by 60
priests, His Lordship the Bishop and the preacher, totaling 62. The presbyterium of
the Diocese of Kurnool thank His Lordship for his concern for the integral growth of
the pastoral clergy, who arranges these ongoing formative animations. And the
Kurnool diocese thanks the preacher Rev. Fr. Tony Viagula SJ, for his availability
and guiding the clergy to the Lord, through his integral preaching. And we also thank
St. Ann’s Generalate community for making beautiful and serene accommodation
for a better and peaceful retreat.–(Fr. O. Joji Reddy, Procurator and
