Conclusion of “Our Lady of Rosary Devotion” & Thanksgiving Mass of St. Teresa of Calcutta at our Lady of Lourdes’s Cathedral, Kurnool

The most very
important Celebrations of
the day, they are Devotion
to our Lady and
Thanksgiving Mass to St
Mother Theresa of Kolkata
for the raising of the Status
of the Sainthood. We
Started procession from CCamp
to Cathedral. During
the Procession we
devotedly in faith recited the
Holy Rosary and singing
Hymn to our Lady of Rosary. We had two statues for Procession; one is Our Lady of
Rosary & St Mother Theresa of Kolkata. Many devotees took part in the procession.
When we reached at the new Arch- gate, we had the blessing of the statues of
Sacred Heart, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Joseph‘s and St. Mother Theresa of Kolkata
followed by Opening of the Arch-Gate which was contributed nearly 14 Lakhs of
rupees by the different groups of our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral and is built beautifully.
His Lordship Most Rev. Anthony Poola D.D. the Bishop of Kurnool, prayed & blessed
for the well being and asked the faithful to grow in faith & love. Thereafter Bishop,
few Fathers, and people who have contributed broke the coconuts during the
blessings.
After the blessing once again we started procession with an open palanquin with the

status of Mother Mary
from Arch-Gate to the
Altar. When we
reached the Stage,
Bishop, Deans, and
Parish Priest left the
balloon Rosary in to the
sky as a sign of
devotion to our Lady .
Just before the Mass,
Superior of the Missionaries of Charity read the life of St Theresa of Kolkata. Even
though she was born in another country, according to the voice of God, she loved,
served worked hard & gave her life for the suffering humanity especially cared for
the abandoned, the neglected and the poor & the orphans, took care of the sick &
the suffering people in the streets of Kolkata. During the Holy Mass Most Rev. Anthony
Poola D. D. Preached on the life of Mother Mary & St. Theresa of Kolkata His Personal
experience was that “My life is nothing in the site of St Theresa of Kolkata, because
she served the sick, cleaned & dressed up the infected wounds with barehanded,
She was home for the homeless, She fed the hungry and put in to the practice the
golden Word’s of Jesus Christ.” Finally he insisted that everyone should read the
bible, during this jubilee year, the word of God should reach every house and each
Individual. At the end of his Homily Bishop appreciated the dedicated service rendered
by the Mother Theresa sisters to the diocese.
After the Mass, Rev. Fr. Kola Vijaya Raju thanked Bishop, all the Fathers , sisters
and the Parishioners specially the Donors who contributed the large amount for the
beautiful Arch Gate of our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral, for the Eucharistic Celebration
the songs were sung melodiously by the Missionary Sisters of Charity which helped
the faithful to participate devotedly. After the Holy Mass Bishop and the Sisters of
Charity were felicitated by the faithful of Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral and After the
Holy mass, there was a beautiful programme, put up by D S S sisters, Devanagar
students and St.Joseph’s students and there was felicitation and cake cutting
ceremony, Children performed tremendously & beautifully the dances on the theme
of St. Mother Theresa of Kolkata.
There after Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Kola Vijaya Raju was appreciated and Felicitated
by Bishop for his hard work saying “He is short but very strong. He has given a
beautiful & grand look to the Cathedral by his hard work”. After the programme

delicious food was served to all those who entered the campus. All enjoyed their
meal & had their full, returned to their homes satisfied, Praising & Thanking God for
